'Sport Unlimited' launched in Stockport

Monday 29th September will see the launch of 'Sport Unlimited' in Stockport, an initiative providing exciting new sporting activities for young people, as part of the Active Stockport campaign.
Sport England has invested over £100,000 in Stockport to enable a range of extra sporting opportunities for young people aged 11 to 19, outside of school hours.
The activities, suggested by young people themselves, include 'Team Jam', Teen Spinning, Boxercise, Golf, Street Dance, Lacrosse, Swimming, Skateboarding and much more.
Activities will run during Autumn Term 29th September to 14th December 2008 and Spring Term 12th January to 23rd March 2009.

Councillor Shan Alexander, Executive Member for Leisure, said: "This is fantastic news for young people in Stockport. Sport Unlimited offers free and low cost 10-week taster sessions in a wide variety of different and exciting sporting activities. I would urge as many young people as possible to take advantage of this great opportunity during the Autumn and Spring terms."
